Can popular music really ever be unplugged?
popular music is a major part of our lives, more so then we actually realise a lot of the time, and the question above brings up an issue most of us have never properly thought about. If you look at all the different ways in which people listen to music, I don't think that it can be 'unplugged'. we constantly listen to music almost where ever we go and what ever we are doing. in this technological era it would be almost impossible to be excluded from it completely. even if you went about trying not to hear popular music by staying away from radios, CD's, clubs and even the internet, you still have to bring into consideration all those around you. they will be listening, and so through passing a shop/car with a stereo on or even in conversation when people talk about music or even the things they are doing, we are always being exposed to it in one way or another. the only way to 'unplug' popular music would be to stop creating it.
